Families & Students

Before assessing, you set up who you're assessing.

Families and students

Create a family and add a student for each child — with their name, grade level (Pre-K through 12), birth date, and an optional photo. Students are the center of everything else: assessments, results, and progress all hang off a student.

Who can do what

Other people can be attached to a family with a role — for example a parent, guardian, or observer. Roles carry permissions:

  • Can edit — change student and family details.
  • Can assess — administer assessments to the student.

This lets two parents share a student, or lets an observer (a grandparent, a tutor) follow along without changing anything.

With students in place, you're ready to give an assessment.
