Assessments

An assessment is a structured set of questions that measures where a student is in a subject or skill area.

Choosing an assessment

For each student, LifeSkillsPath shows the assessments appropriate to their grade. Assessments are organized into sections and questions, with several question types.

Taking an assessment

Students work through the assessment with auto-save, so progress isn't lost if they stop and come back. Many questions are scored automatically.

Scoring and benchmarks

Auto-scored results are measured against benchmark levels so a raw score becomes meaningful:

  • Below expectations
  • Approaching expectations
  • Meeting expectations
  • Exceeding expectations

Teacher review of open-ended work

Some responses — like a drawing — can't be auto-scored. Those are flagged as needing review, and the assessment waits in a pending review state until a teacher or parent scores them and finalizes the assessment.

Once finalized, head to Results & progress to see what the assessment revealed.
